Exploding Silence, seeking for Justice!

What does biblical law have to do with justice? Everything! Moses said to his people: “”Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, that you may live…”(Deu. 16:20) Thus says the LORD: “Keep justice, and do righteousness, for soon my salvation will come, and my deliverance be revealed.(Isa.56:1) No-one has said it better! Right?

The chase of justice is the foundation of urbane humanity. Yet we know many people working abroad; in particular FILIPINOS, now have been oppressed, maltreated, and experienced amiss judicial system in other country, yet why they still opt in hiding themselves in stillness? All of us want justice, and searching justice insinuates silence!

“We tell people to come out of silence,” “Do not be afraid to say that you have been victimized.”But lack of support from our countrymen brings nostalgia to the victim. This is not easy, but CHOOSING the right response, is the key.-EXPOSING THE PAIN OF INEQUALITY and the emerging CALLOUSNESS of some abusive authorities. Fair dealing with this kind of situation doesn’t happen unless we are focused and determined. Yet everything – ‘including our lives’ – depends on it.

In the midst of incisive way to help out the victims, It reminded me to overview the case of my brethren RONALD ULEP AND RAFAEL ALAMARES who were been arrested two years ago by the QATARI authorities. The two were involved in the case of Abdullah Youseff Chua; A former Muslim turned Jesus Christ believer. ULEP and ALAMARES were arrested without warrant of arrests.  According to the families, and other brethren in Qatar; the Qatar authorities, would not like to release them as long as they could not participating in the case and give all the information needed to evince that CHUA is blameworthy on his case.  The two were still detained in Qatar, without any formal charges against them. The families were much concerned on the condition of ULEP and ALAMARES inside the detention centre.  Yes it’s been two years, and even now, it’s still not yet over. The two years of aggravation, mental and physical torture by the Qatari authorities should bring to a halt NOW! They need to be freed from injustice, indeed!

The Lord’s Hand Ministry, wherein ULEP and ALAMARES second home, is constantly processing all the means to help the brethren to acquire their freedom. Rev. Joseph Apilado, the Congregation Head, who was also arrested together with them and the other 5 pastors in Qatar two years ago, (http://www.pinoy-ofw.com/news/1526-nine-filipinos-detained-in-qatar.html ) recalled how painful it was to be detained and being demoralized.  As he testified, 85days of solitary confinement is in itself a manifestation of psychological and mental torture “The most noteworthy abuse I suffered in prison was my psychological and mental torture. I was physically tortured, which included beatings during interrogations, sleep deprivation, hell cuffs, hog tie, it was a very terrible experience! And common to us was requiring us to assume an uncomfortable position and remain in that position for prolonged periods. When the situation permitted and when no longer under observation, we would secretly assume a more comfortable position, if they caught us, it led to beatings and resumption of the position. Some of the mental and psychological torture included giving me false news and information, threatening me with flogging, forcing me to accept debauched charges, threatening us with a long prison sentence, and banning my visitations, forced participation in espionage involvement, and some of my brethren suffered from indoctrination, giving the illusion to convince us that Islam is the true religion/ Jesus is not God, me and my brethren has his own story to tell, it was really traumatic, but in every pain, I always let God to be my strength.” he continued.

Apostle Joseph interrogation with the abusive Qatari authorities was not easy, but he did not compromise his stand on his faith.  After a long period of time, Apilado was acquitted in terrorism case. Like the family of ULEP and ALAMARES, Apostle Joseph Apilado, is truly aiming for the justice they deserve.

The challenge to this desolate situation is to see how we analyze how pathetic we are if we continue to choose silence, how painful it is if we ignore the greater possibility to wreck large-scale problems of crime, how traumatic it could be if these kind of stories untold and how biblical law advances being about something more than just an interpersonal scheme, important though that is.

There was leaked information that the Qatar authorities usually practices hypothetical stories to deprived human rights. In a Muslim country like Qatar, the abusive authorities can easily arraign other believers (such as Christians) involving them in ESPIONAGE indictment in order to arrest them. Unfair isn’t it? But it actually happens.

The case of ULEP and ALAMARES, must to be recognized now! This is to inform the whole of politics and public administration that law goes far beyond.

What if we apply the biblical law, as Its goal is to develop a worldview that is shaped at every point by an understanding of what it means to live a life of love as persons made in the image of God and which, in turn, feeds into our understanding and aspirations regarding the sort of world we want to live in.

If we treat this injustice system paralyzed, and justice never prevails. “The wicked edge in the righteous, so that justice is perverted”- (Hab.1:4)

The victims like CHUA, ULEP and ALAMARES are roaring for help. They are reaching out all of us, not just the Filipinos but to every nation to explode! To let one’s hope become the resistance for the innocent prisoners fighting to survive!

My shout, your screams, can break the silence of INJUSTICE! Share hopes and encouragement to the innocent Filipino prisoners in Qatar!

Yes, It is not yet over…We are just starting to FIGHT! Let’s wage war against abusive authorities, against all kinds of injustice, because the battle is in the Lord’s hand now!

Hello Phil. Ambassador to Qatar?

Qatar will bow down to Jesus; The Ancient of Days and the Rock of our Salvation. Praise the Lord!

  6. justice for everyone! not only for filipinos but to all the people who are maltreated in qatar!

  7. felizamaren says:

THIS MUST STOP NOW! ALL THE INJUSTICES MUST STOP NOW! To falsely accuse Apostle Joseph, Pastor Ralph and Pastor Ronald of espionage and terrorism is really under the belt. This must stop now!

  8. carolcarumba says:

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day & night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice and quickly! Luke 18:7-8a.

  9. carolcarumba says:

  10. carolcarumba says:

THis is long overdue, two yrs is too much…hindi lamang pakikinig ang kailangan ng ating kababayan kundi aksyon ng ating gobyerno.

  11. felizamaren says:

I can’t believe how much our beloved pastors have suffered. For almost three years they are still in bars without proper trial. For almost three years the Qatari government have employed delaying tactics to lengthen their prison time. They have done nothing wrong. They are innocent. All of them. Oppresing Pastor Youseff Abdul Chua because he is a believer and a disciple of Christ (like all of us who are writing in this blog) is unjust. Just below the belt. I don’t know personally Pastor Chua, Ulep or Alamares nor I have been in Qatar. But I believe that these men doesn’t deserve the unfair judiciary system they are experiencing right now. They (QTR goverment), we have completely shut ourselves up in this issue.

WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL ALL OF THEM ARE RELEASED IN PRISON!
LET THE BANNER OF GOD BE RAISED IN QATAR!

  12. carolcarumba says:

Even God wants justice to those who need justice and He wants it to be quick.

  13. The “Abuse in Authority” must End! I pray that the Government of the Philippines will do something with this matter!

  14. Stop this Injustice to the Filipino People specially to the Man of God in Qatar!

  15. When injustice is ignored, justice is denied!

As people in governmental authority who have the access to impose justice remain to be indifferent, numbed by their calloused hearts, receiving their paychecks while giving a cold-shoulder to every case of illegal torture, harassment, detainment, afflicted families, and so forth and so on, ignoring and tolerating any form of injustice, the damage, not only to personal lives, but to national welfare as well, broadens.

But as we remain in silence, we also deny our fellowmen, our friends and families, of justice they are rightfully entitled to. Corporately, our silence gives a loud permission for injustice to prevail and take its dark and bitter course. By choosing to be silent, you not only tolerate injustice but you are also DENIED OF WHAT’S RIGHTFULLY YOURS, WHAT’S RIGHTFULLY OURS.

Will we let both those practicing and those tolerating, thereby, patronizing injustice, keep us mum? Will we let them rob us of what is rightfully ours? Will we let them feed their stomachs and accumulate wealth at the expense of our fellowmen’s, friends’, families’ future and life?

Will we let our silence make us no different from the authors of torment and injustice?

A big and loud NO! An end to this injustice is long overdue. It’s time we do something, something right! Speak out! Take part! Kasama ka dito! The battle is in the Lord’s Hand now!

  16. Isaiah 61:8a “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and iniquity…” NIV
” For I, the Lord, take pleasure in upright judging; I will not put up with the
violent taking away of right.” BBE

This Qatar government will surely reap what they sow! The Righteous Judge will certainly lift His Right Hand against them!

  17. We want justice for our pastors in Qatar!

  18. THIS FIGHT IS THE START!! TO STOP INJUSTICES IN EVERY FILIPINOS SUFFERED FROM ABUSE AND INJUSTICES BROUGHT BY THE QUATARI GOVERNMENT. THE FIGHT STILL ON!!! THE FIGHT IS IN THE LORDS HAND!!!

    JUSTICE TO OUR PASTORS!!!
THIS FIGHT IS FOR EVERY FILIPINOS. IT’S NOT TIME REMAIN SILENT LET’S ALL UNITE IN THIS FIGHT AND EXPRESS OUR THOUGHTS IN THIS KIND OF SITUATION.
ONE HEART, ONE MIND SEEKING FOR JUSTICE.

    FREEDOM TO OUR PASTORS!!!

  19. This is not the first time that Filipinos had experienced injustice and abuse from other countries. There were more reports of cases unresolved, than being resolved.
Isn’t it because God’s people were involved of this kind of injustice from Qatar government, is just a way of exposing what kind of leadership these Qatari have?
A kingdom of light is always exposing what is in the darkness.

And if the Philippine government would not do their responsibility to their citizens as well, what kind of leadership too, are we Filipinos are expecting in the future?
The Bible says in Proverbs 29:14 “Leadership gains authority and respect when the voiceless poor are treated fairly.”

Surely God is faithful to His people, just like what He did to Apostle Joseph and other brethren; yet still we have to continue to pray hard for the other pastors. And let us pray hard too, for our government to open their eyes to the reality on how most Filipinos are being mistreated in other countries.

Let us fight a good fight of Faith!

  21. There is this exigency of shouting “ENOUGH!”, to those people who expressly portray injustice for self-gratification. You have overwhelmed God by means of your Unrepentant hearts and now, you dare touching His Sons?

Shame on those, who persecute people sent by God to provide hope for salvation.
Shame on those, who put on cold shoulders in these kind oppression
and, JUSTICE to those who are victims of this situation

Let us be strong and fight this battle!

It takes thousands to fight a war, but Only the True Living God, to win.

And how about our own government? Is this a wake up call to the Philippine government to do their part, their responsibility to their citizens? and show their true leadership and authority.
As the bible says, “Leadership gains authority and respect when the voiceless poor are treated fairly.” Proverbs 29:14

Surely God is always faithful to those who are truly committed to Him, just like what He did to Apostle Joseph and the other brethren. Yet, we still have to fight this good fight of Faith, and believe in the power of prayer. Let us continue to pray hard for the other pastors still in prison, and let us pray for our own government, that they may open their eyes to the reality on how Filipinos are being mistreated and abused….for a long time of injustice!

  25. To the King and Leaders of Qatar
    Job 34:16-20
16 “If you have understanding, hear this; listen to what I say. 17 Can he who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the Just and Mighty One? 18 Is He not the One who says to kings, ‘You are worthless,’ and to nobles, ‘You are wicked,’ 19 who shows no partiality to princes and does not favor the rich over the poor, for they are all the work of His hands? 20 They die in an instant, in the middle of the night; the people are shaken and they pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand. NIV
This is the word of the Lord to all Kings and Leaders all over the world!

We demand what is due for the wrong accusations and harsh treatment you have shown him and to us, his congregation. Give back his personal belongings and money. Release our innocent brothers, our pastors that you still detain there. Your sin will find you out. Time to unmask the ugly face of injustice in Qatar!

  42. TO THE WICKED LEADERS OF QATAR:
    Ps 94:20-23
20 Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side—leaders whose decrees permit injustice?
21 They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the LORD is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide.
23 God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The LORD our God will destroy them.
